A radical Social and Labour Plan approach had been taken by ERGO, in partnership with Umsizi, to improve lives in the mining community of the East Rand, Johannesburg. DRD Gold Ergo’s broad-based livelihoods programme made it possible to bring a sustainable socio-economic solution to a community that would otherwise suffer the fate of inequality, poverty, malnutrition and hopelessness. We are proud to play a role in this initiative that changes lives for a better South Africa.
